Surprise Surprise .... my mom pass me a phone n it turned out to be from Lisa, the last maid that worked at my place ... up till now, no maid ever called back and she is the very first one.
Turned out that she is working at Jurong area now and currently looking after 3 children now ... still quite surprise that she actually made the phone call back

Suay Day
it's a suay day
today is Stock day ! lots of stock arrived and the lift to my floor just so happen to be under some sort of maintenance !
and if it's not bad enough ... the Sky decided to add a bit of rain , just to make it more fun ...
and if it't not bad enough ... the hardworking pest people came to flog the place so we won't get dengue but I might just die from the poisonous smoky discharge from their pipe ...
and if it's not enough .... everyone disappeared just when the stock arrived ... meaning , it's going to be a one man show !!!
then at night ... was suppose to go out with fren for supper, drive halfway n got her sms that someone is coming to fix her computer ... so she is undecided ... told her its ok n i can u turn back ... which she decided she want to have supper with me ... and my hp was out of batt ... so i off it .. in order to save some energy to call her when i m there .. guess what .. when i was near her place, it turned out that she changed her mind again n want to cancel !

She was quick to point out that my Grandma was upset because I got the Luck and not the Skills (which is even more upsetting)
The polite person in me thanked her for being so frank and she said :"with friends like me , you'll never need enemies "
That statement made me felt that I found my Brutus liao

自摸满胡 ( Zi Mo Man Hu)
After blading at East Coast, I decided to pop by to my Aunt's place (which is quite nearby to EC) cos I was told in the morning that there will be a Mahjong session the whole day today. Wanted to give my brain a workout too after "working out" my body today and soul yesterday (the soul bit should be in a previous post which at this point of time, has not been written... but hey reload and scroll down often, it will be up 'eventually')
By the time I finally took over, it was already in the final round and I took over my mom seat again... but before she left, I had to check with her the outstanding amount (amount owing) left by her as previously, she left a big debt for me and I wasn't able to win enough in time to cover the losses and ended paying the outstanding. Was a bit smarter this time round to let her know that she got to cover the outstanding amount that she had stacked up at the end of the game in case I can't win enough in time.
Sat down, "Wash" the tiles and started the game. Right from the start, I got two animals tiles that are a matching pair which means I get to collect money!!! A very GOOD Start: I thought to myself
and while arranging the tiles that I got, I realized I got a very good hand, so good that I was able to finish the game shortly . True enough, tiles that are thrown out are pretty much in my favour and within a short while, I was waiting to game.
Now for those who are "new" to Mahjong, let me explain some simple terms here.
To game, there were 2 ways that I could do it.
One would be that I get the tile that I am waiting from one of the players when he or she throw them out. That would mean the player who throw the tile out, have to pay the full sum, which is 2 times what the other 2 players have to pay me. (The one will curse n swear while the other 2 will be thankful that they are not the lucky one)
The other way would be that I scoop my own winning tile and that's call 自摸 Zi Mo (direct translate to English, it will be Self Touch ... er more of Self Take the Winning Tile) which mean all the 3 players have to pay the full sum (which also will result in many unhappy faces around the table and everyone will bound to curse and swear at the luck bugger / winner ... if not verbally, then it will be mentally)
Of Cos, I did a 自摸 (if not, there won't be a post with such a title right?). The question now is the total damage that I have just inflicted on my dear opponents (the payout that my opponents have to pay me) .... which we will proceed to the 2nd mahjong lesson of this post!
In Mahjong, every game won has a different payout and it depends on how many Tai the winner had collected at the end of the game. Normally, in friendly Mahjong games, we cap it at 5 Tai (in order to not really really hurt your friend's wallet) and the rates are as follow,

2 Tai = 2 cents / 4 cents
3 Tai = 4 cents / 8 cents
4 Tai = 8 cents / 16 cents
5 Tai = 16 cents / 32 cents
If U win with the maximum number of Tai or more than that, it will be call a 满胡 Man Hu. As again, by reading the title, smart reader like U would have guess that I got a Man Hu! Well actually technically, I got more than 5 Tai, 6 Tai to be exact .
The rates above is just an example ... the rates we played, for a 5 Tai Self Touch, everyone had to pay me $6.40 (work the way back and U will figure out what the starting rates)
I think I upset my Grandma who had been playing the game since noon. A whole day of playing and then encounter A lucky bugger who do a Man Hu right on his very first game! It can get quite irritating specially if that lucky bugger was a tab bit YaYa about his luck ...
anyway the game went on and tho I didn't win all of them, I won enough from the other games to make sure that it cover all my losses and doesn't touch my first winning! There was a close 4 Tai Winning but my Grandma quickly snatch it away from me ... winning it with the tile that I was waiting for .... what can I say? the oldest ginger still the most spicy !
Being the slowest, the other 3 players calculate the final score and I got to take 6 bucks back home from my Grandma ... doing some maths, I should get at least $19.20 from the first game ... my mom was quick to point out that it was my 3rd Aunt that left the deficit so by right, she should be paying me back and not her ... tsk tsk tsk ... I got a feeling my $13.20 will eventually become a bad debt ...
While leaving, my uncle pointed out that Lucky I didn't come earlier ... my Grandma and Mom didn't get why he said that but we (my uncle and I) had a good laugh at that... who knows what will be the final outcome if I was there eariler or played another game ??
In the end, was very happy with the 6 bucks that I won... it covered the cost of my dinner : ) aka Free Dinner !!!

Met up with a Old Fren recently ...
we talk abt life n the direction that we took ...
as a close fren, he told me that It will be better if i find a direction soon to head or might just end up like his uncle .... who keep sponging off his folks and relative, wife left him, became 60 and still live aimlessly
touching on the age issues ... he lighted to me ... don't care about what had happened ... if one does not take action now ... we might still be talking abt the same problem i hit 40 ... and that will be sad ...
tho we never meet up that often and this was his farewell meetup before he go overseas to chong for a better life ... i felt awful touched by what he had to tell me

need to get a place of my own
Was out with my friend ... since her internet at home was down and she need to do some work online, I invited her over to my place to use my internet.
She refused as my parents will be there and she felt that it wasn't proper thing to do.
After a while, our conversation shift to her wanting to get a small apartment for herself and I told her that I want move out and get a small apartment for myself
She thought it was rather werid as I am staying with my parents and everything seems fine to her....
to which, I told her that I want to get a place of my own so that people won't be able to give excuse of not coming up to my place becos of my parents
She then said:" It's a good sign, it shows that you got friends who are very good one"
To the point, I can't help but ask her:" ... so are you saying that you are a very good girl la ?
she gave me a blank look and ask:" ... are we talking abt me?"
argh

i , parking attendant
Came back after a jog, a Chinese lady waved at me .... someone that I have never seen in my estate and I am pretty sure she is not someone that I know.
I waved and tried to walk away but it turned out that she is calling me over to help her park her car!
jump forward to later on, after i told my mom what just happened and she said it happened to her before too ... as in she asked ppl to help her park cos it was a narrow parallel parking and there was a drain which scares my mom
but the case here was that there were 3 empty lots and basically, she had already parked the car except she couldn't align it so that the car won't be slanted.
Rather amused, i warned her that I am sweating ... to which, she said she was too after many failed attempts
so i got her keys, hop into the car and start the engine ... the first thing that happened was that the car seat started moving towards the steering wheel and there was no where of stopping it! the first thought that came into my mind was the movie Grindhouse's Deathtrap!
What if she is trying to kill me with the front car seat !
What if i get snapped into 2? oh darn !!! I am in a horror movie !!! I knew something's wrong with the whole scenario ...
then the lady came n opened the door to help me stop the death crush! it turned out that the Jaguar remembered her seating pattern and so whenever the engine get started, the driver seat will move to it's favourite position .... (but i thought, even she is short ... also dont have to sit so upfront, no wonder cannot see the side mirror to park the car properly).
in matter of secs ... I parked her Jaguar and gave her some tips about parking ... i know it's scary but if don't practice, won't learn one ... I really wonder how she drive her car on the road ... should be those who give female drivers a bad name one : )

When u know it's not suay* enough
* = unlucky
Was suppose to take some stuff over to one of my near by shops .... and just before I left my place, it started raining ... since there was time, i decided to wait and hey ! the rain actually stopped!
but then , since it's still early, i dilly dally and the msg keep popping out in my mind ... "Delay often have dangerous means or endings" aka not good to delay and true enough ... it started to rain !
argh ... and time was running out as i gotto meet my fren after dropping off my stuff ...
so i decided to brave the rain .. and among the three packages, i could have drop one but was too lazy as it meant that i have to bring it down again another day ... so lugging three bags full of stuff .. i begun my journey
pass by the car ... i was tempted to drive over but the the ERP n the short distance made the cheapo in me to go ahead with the stupid plan of juggling umbrella with 3 bags
then the rain came stronger n harder ... punishing my stupid idea of saving that two bucks ... before half way there, my pants already soaking wet
now ... a scary thought crept into my mind ... what worse that could happen to u ! yes .. the shop not open and true enough ... it wasn't

Yesterday, I went down to NLB to pass my fren a horror movie pass. She was there to meet her friends before going to the cinema and I managed to catch her before she gather with her friends ... caught a glimpse of her friends and did a bit of wave to them before leaving my fren to do my stuff
fast forward to today ... my fren msn me and told me that one of her guy friend commented to her ... why not consider me to start a relationship with !!!
hehehe oh boy i was so flattered ... for a stranger to consider me worthy to be of boyfriend material to his friend just by that one encounter (without even any exchange of words) ... but maybe he is just worried ... and wonder if I am one of his potential enemy hehehe ... so was just saying that to check her response ! hehehe

Bloody Knees

My HK TV series hero ... AH WANG !!! or better known to the rest as Roger Kwok ... Was lucky enough to interview him today after being "appointed*" by Sir Linus (*some might say Arrowed) ... normally nowadays, i don't take pictures with stars anymore but then, i enjoyed his Wang Fu Cheng Long, Ge Shi Zhui Xiong & Mei Li Zai Wang very much so asked for one
Later on ... while waiting for the next star to interview ... I was thinking of a caption for our photo and the Title that I thought of cracked me up ... "I am with Ah Wang" with an arrow pointing to the left ... hehehe (the joke here is that it's another version of "I am with Stupid")
No Disrespect here hor ... I really like his performance as Ah Wang ... just amused with the play of words here!

this past few press cons that I been to, there this girl that always catch my attention.
the first time I saw her, she was sitting a few rows in front of me and she turned around to speak to her friends ... caught my eyes and I can't help but stole a few glances at her. She reminded me of my "old" friend from Korea or some of those Korean actress that does not have those conventional beauty but still shine with her own type of attraction.
Eventually, I was able to remember why I found her so familiar ... she looked like a school mate from my university that I met and chat a few times before. But I wasn't sure cos I remember she was from Malaysia and the last I heard, she went back to Malaysia and thought she would have settled there for good.
after that, I been keeping a lookout whenever i attended celebrity(ies) press cons but never really thought of approaching her ... not sure why but I never really have the urge to see if she the schoolmate that i thought she was
it was until today ... while "cramping" some last min questions for the celebrities, someone approached me and tap my shoulder !
hehehe now .. if at this point, u think it was her .. NAH ... it wasn't ! it turned out to be my NSF BMT platoon mate ... a guy who been working his way into the media industry and now is there as a event coordinator or something ... we had a short chat which was rather enjoyable before he had to rush off to attend to the stars and i went back to cramping out questions
Now u might wonder ... what does my NSF BMT MATE got anything to do with this Girl? hahaha well ... when Linus and I were ushered to the interviewing floor, I found her seating by herself and she was working her questions too ... I thought to myself ... hmmm maybe I should approach her just like my BMT mate did to me... at the most, I got the wrong person and that's it ... no biggie ... and if it's the right person, then it would be fun to do some catch up

after that, I been keeping a lookout whenever i attended celebrity(ies) press cons but never really thought of approaching her ... not sure why but I never really have the urge to see if she the schoolmate that i thought she was
it was until today ... while "cramping" some last min questions for the celebrities, someone approached me and tap my shoulder !
hehehe now .. if at this point, u think it was her .. NAH ... it wasn't ! it turned out to be my NSF BMT platoon mate ... a guy who been working his way into the media industry and now is there as a event coordinator or something ... we had a short chat which was rather enjoyable before he had to rush off to attend to the stars and i went back to cramping out questions
Now u might wonder ... what does my NSF BMT MATE got anything to do with this Girl? hahaha well ... when Linus and I were ushered to the interviewing floor, I found her seating by herself and she was working her questions too ... I thought to myself ... hmmm maybe I should approach her just like my BMT mate did to me... at the most, I got the wrong person and that's it ... no biggie ... and if it's the right person, then it would be fun to do some catch up
so I went up to her, sat beside her and asked: "Excuse me, Are you from Murdoch Uni?"
She gave me a blank look (stare ... i cant tell) ... which at that point, I thought oh oh ... wrong number ... but after a while, she gave me a nod ...
then i asked again ... "you won't happened to be LXX YXX?"
She was stunned that I remember her name ... and I had a good time chatting, catching up & exchange contact with her... and it turned out that her roommate that I had a crush on is in Singapore too ... what a small world ...

rebuttal that drew blood
after my last post, the fren who watch The Fountain with me msg me and told me that she wasn't distracted
to which i replied, it's me ... i am easily distracted
and she shot back ... so issit their faults or mine ?
i told her it's theirs but then again, i know it's mine ... maybe i am not suitable for watching movies in cinema such as i am not suitable for many things in life ... she got a point, not that it's easy to take but she right ...

Closing the Window? YES YES YES !!!
imdb reported there are Proposals to release movies in theaters and DVD simultaneously ! (closing the window between the release movie and Dvd) OHHHHHHHHHHHH Yes ! I am giving up on watching movies in theaters because there are STUPID People who CANT SHUT UP while watching MOVIES!
the final straw was while watching the Fountain ... it was going to be those deep movie that requires the audience to think and be patience enough to be sweep by the mood of the movie ... of cos people with pea brain will not be able to do that .... and LUCKY ME was sitting behind a group of youngster who definitely didn't get the movie and was chatting with each other (they might think they are whispering but it just damn irritating)
and then, there was this old indian ah pek who sat in the row behind me ... when he walked into the theater, pardon my stereotyping, but he don't seem like the type that will know or appreciate this type of movie and BINGO ... I was right .. he spend his time munching and moving his plastic bags around ... moving plastic bags got sound meh (u might ask)? ... yes in the enclosed room during the quieter moments... it's deafening! An ANG MO tried to ask him to keep it down but he ignored her and continue to do what he probably does in a coffee shop after a day of begging.... fuck .. i think someone gave him free movie passes and he didn't know what to do or nothing to do so came in to enjoy air con.
FUCKERS! the show already so difficult to understand and they are still providing such entertaining distractions .... I think I am going to revert back to my old "CAN YOU PLEASE KEEP QUIET WHILE WATCHING MOVIE" mode ... so much for trying to be nice to people ... I don't recall why I made such a promise to be so friendly to this fuckers who don't give a damn and think it's their living room ... shall think of nasty things to say to them ... "your brain cannot hold the thoughts until the end of the movie ah ?" or "i know you are scared / bored / horny but cant u keep it down? i also pay money to watch this movie"
Will this Proposals ever get thru? hmmm it's highly unlikely but then in a age where consumer should be King, why can't it? it might be a slow process but it should be the direction that we are heading towards! there are more and more online sales of mp3 ... indivdual tracks instead of getting the whole album for the casual fans ... but like Stefan said, the cinema vendors will Kao Bei Kao Bu ... all i can say it's time for them to feel the pain when they had the monopoly and increase price of the tickets much to our displeasure ... well if they can work a way to stop people from chatting while watching the show ... hmmm still highly unlikely
At this point of time, I think I will either only watch those cheem movies when the movie is out on dvd, no point spending time with people who can't shut up .... still it's good to know that one day I might be able to watch those cheem movies at the same time as its release in theaters

I don't know why this line has so much effect on me ... It first came to my attention when I was listening to the soundtracks of The Fountain and the Piano track that stood out (I believe John pointed out but I didn't take note at first)
and then the track's title got my attention .. I really don't know why but I really attracted to that title
When I finally watched the movie, I could guess the reason ... told CPT PENG that maybe it's the longing for that person ... my Eve

I, Room Raider
Was at John's place for CNY house visiting since he was so nice to open house to US ... I arranged it at 12pm but we went to have lunch instead of visiting his place and by the time we finally reached his place .. it was close to 1.45pm
And I got another appointment which I didn't expect to come by ... so gotto rush back to my place and rush out again ... to a venue that quite near John's place ... yeah it sound quite dumb but the appointment needed the car and I didn't drive to John's place
Anyway ... that short time at his place ... I raided his Dvds and Cd ... as usual, he's the nice guy who give in all the time and i think I went overboard with the taking ... after talking my fill, it was time to rush off
I didnt think much of it until I was driving later on and realized that hey .. I just Raided his room
kekek thanks John : ) for your house, your hong bao and all your stuff : ) pls invite me again next year ....

Product Placement Sucker Sucked
recently I gotten a Timex Watch just becos I love the movie "Stranger than Fiction" and was busy waving in front of Stefan face ... hopping that he will noticed it ... I think it was the end of our meeting, while waiting for a bus that he finally noticed it ... (I believe i put my watch very near his face)
hehehe and guess what .. he couldn't remember which movie was the watch from ... even tho I dropped hints and mention the movie a couple of times to him while out .. it was fun to see him struggle
when he finally got it ... the first thing he said was that "I am sucker for Product Placement! " Yes! i am a living proof that Product Placement in movies work!
haha I never thought of it that way .. but hey ... I can't deny the power of Product Placement after this chat : )

I am bringing You to Work!
My Friend and I were going to Geylang for supper and I drove towards PIE from TPE instead of going by CTE to PIE.
Suddenly my fren asked, "Why are we going by this way?"
As we were on TPE, heading towards Changi Airport (her workplace), I told her "I am bringing you to work"
She looked at me and kept quiet for a while ... and asked "Really ah?"
I looked at her and said:"yeah, Changi Airport your workplace right ?"
Then she bursts out laughing and said: "I thought you said you are going to bring me to Geylang to work"
Yeah .. Pimp my Ride !
