While finishing our meal at Orchard Cineplex, Stefan (the big Bollywood fan) took noticed that a Hrithik Roshan look alike, Indian movie star from Krrish (a Bollywood film filmed partly in Singapore) just passed us by ...

Since Mr Fan was such a big fan who went GaGa over the chance meeting, I took my drink and told him let's stalk him and checked out if it was really him ...

(Just an indication on how starstruck Mr Fan was ... he even called our fellow MX Colleague up to check if he knew anything abt the sudden appearance of Hrithik Roshan.)

So we went to check him out and Mr Fan pointed out that he got 6 fingers on his right hand ... something that I never took note of while watching Krrish ... (another indication of fandom here)... Instead of approaching him directly, we followed him to the cinema box office and check him out ... and I confirmed for Mr Fan that he did indeed got that 6 fingers on his right hand ...

Well right then, it was very likely that it was the man himself !

So I took out my camera which was very low on batt and told Mr Fan ... ready when you are ... and needless to say, this post comes with no picture attached to it. Not because it run out of battery as I was worried about but because Mr Fan told me He wasn't in the mode to approach him ...

Jump to later the Night, when I was chatting with the Visitor, it occurred to me that the situation was rather similar to Rambo's trailer ...

and the similarities are

Later on ... at the bus stop ... regrets besiege Mr Fan ... specially when he thought of how many bollywood fans might flock to his blog to read his encounter with Mr Big Bollywood Star : )

being ungrateful

Mr Fan & me had been "fighting" over the recent Cloverfield movie ... one which I thought was enjoyable but overrated and the fanboys are raving over nothing ... but of cos Mr Fan went "OMG OMG OMG" over it ...

he had been sending me url links of Cloverfield ... pointing to sites like the upcoming toy for this movie and the last one was one that revealed Cloverfield wasn't filmed on a consumer camera but was actually with a professional one.

Quick Thoughts on 2008 Oscar Nomination

1 - If Norbit wins the Best Make Up, it's like a slap to Eddie's Face

2 - The Diving Bell and Butterfly never got nominated for Foreign Language ? this year Foreign Language Category like a bit screw up leh

3 - Johnny Depp get nominated for non traditional Best Actor's character again ... hmmm

4 - Atonement that good meh ???????????? haiz I don't really want to watch this but there so many nomination and friends recommending it to me ... must really go see for myself if it's that good

5 - Enchanted nominated for 3 songs ??? 3 /5 of the whole category ?? will it be like Dreamgirls again ???

6 - Heng Heng, I managed to catch 1 out of 5 Best Picture .... 4 more to go

7 - anyone wanna bet ??????

Yesasia Jan Pruchase

Stefan saw the Hellboy 3 Disc set was selling for less than 30 bucks n jio me to join him in buying dvds from Yesasia ... and since Stephen Chow's new film will be coming in town soon, I throw in a couple of his movies and hopefully will be lucky enough to get it signed ... highly unlikely but at least I can spend my CNY watching his stuff or entertaining the guests with it ... : )

and gotten Chicken in the Wind cos I chanced upon it and remembered that a friend of mine was looking for it ... hopefully she haven't gotten it by the time I pass it to her ...

Recently, I took part in a Wallace and Gromit Dvd giveaway contest from Screensucked, thinking that it's unlikely that I will win but went ahead because I had always wanted to get that dvd.

Then recently Stefan himself won a X Files Season 4 box set from that blog and I thought it will be highly unlikely that another Singaporean will win again so soon from them.

But hey hey hey ... the biggest surprise after coming back from Cloverfield, all charged up to rush a review before the dateline tomorrow was checking my email. It turned out that I won the Wallace and Gromit Dvd from Screensucked.

One thing for sure ... they didn't sucked ! hahahaha

anyway, I had already email back with my postal address and will be checking my letter box every single day for the dvd : ) Stefan's item only took one day to reach him so I really can't wait ....

Plus I can share it with my Nephew ... something less violent for him to watch .... really happy right now

the capacity of the human mind

Went to catch a surprise screening with Stefan and CK. While waiting, a group came in and sat beside me. When they were walking in, I sort of guess that it's likely that the bunch will talk during the movie and true enough, the couple beside me started yakking early on in the movie ...

initially, it was the thrill of figuring out what the movie was (The MIST)... even Stefan gave a "yahoo" when the movie title came up so I kept my peace but as the movie went on, so did the constant yakking beside me.

I thought I was the only one who was trying to keep my cool and I was rather surprise to find that Stefan and I both turned to the couple at the same time to hush them ... he gave the "shhhh" and I told them nicely to pls stop talking.

they were quiet for a while but before long, they had to say something to each other. I was thinking of making a move to the seats in front but as the movie had chaos going on and their background noise were folks speaking, so it didn't bother me that much.

Then something happened which amused me instead of irritated me ...

A gun appear on the screen and the guy beside me utter

"GUN"

Then when an Axe appeared ... he said "AXE" like it was a discovery of something special

I was so tempted to ask him ... why he couldn't keep his thoughts in ah ? of cos it's a gun and an axe ... so bloody obvious .... is this brain capacity so small that he can't help saying the obvious ???

then I heard "Spider" from him which almost cause me to laugh out loud. For once a talker amused me instead of irritating me

another wedding montage done : )

Another friend of mine asked me to do a wedding montage for him ... well it's not meant for the wedding guests to see and it's just for private consumation (aka that is the bride n groom in their hotel room)

Still the challenge was there and after one unexpected shutdown, I am pretty glad it was done. During the video making, somehow I felt that this video will be able to influence people to get married asap. I was kinda worried that the friend who ordered this video clip might not like it.

But after showing it to my friends .... I was quite surprise to hear the outcome ....

Firstly, a friend of mine mention that the video makes her want to get married asap. and then follow up with the requester saying it was good ... Phew ... :) I can sleep liao tonight

Fanboy Rant Alert ...

After days of scheming, plotting and manipulating ... I finally met one of my favourite Chinese Singers at Singtel Comcentre ... initially it wasn't even clear whether will he be turning up at all and there were people telling it that it might be a pure product promotion and no artist appearance at all ...

Well that rumours was all laid to rest pretty early as the moment I stepped into the venue, I was given an autographed poster ... things were definitely looking at and chances were high although MX/I were not given a one on one opportunity...

so I schemed ... hehe knew that roughly when the most likely opportunity to get my stuff signed and perhaps a photo with him ... after scanning the grounds and the escape routes that he might take ... I figured my best chance would be when he was coming off stage and perhaps before he would be escorted to those infamous back lanes where I would most likely be unable to enter ....

After all the product promo and the stars chatted about the film Pye Dog, it was the finale Photo session time and I packed all my stuff with me, all ready to do that last minute "Can you sign for me" before the body guards (which was only a couple I think) could react ...

Initially I was pretty slow and before I could get to him, he and the female star had left the hall ... pressing on, I went out to the reception area, half expecting that he would have been led out and that's where I hit pay dirt : ) hehehe he and other folks were hanging around

NO WAITING LIAO !

hehehe i approached him and tapped him on the shoulder ... told him I am a fan and if he would kindly sign my CD

and boy he was kind enough to obliged and even asked if it's ok to sign the interior instead of the other cover that I requested ... hehehe well it's your CD : ) (actually after the whole encounter, It made sense to sign the interior as it's less likely to fade off) ... after which, he even asked if I liked to include my name on it .... hehhehe the picture will tell u the outcome right ?

the sensing there's more time since no minders had actually zoom in to stop me, I tried to get him to sign another item which is more dear to me : ) and that is ....

Yup , this cheaply newspaper cutting ... worthless to most but gotto be one of the most precious item to me .... following which, I told him it was one of my favourite film and I gave it 4.5 stars (which I pointed to him)

If I didn't remember wrongly, both our faces brighten up at that moment ... and he inspected what was quoted and read out loud for a while ... hehe he then went on to sign the item ... kept one side for Miriam Yeung : ) yeah .. (Miriam Yeung U r my Next Target! )

afterwhich, my next plan was taking a photo with him ... but this is where I made the most stupid mistake of the day ... as he was signing the newspaper ad, the event organiser came to take him away for the one on one .... the pretty organiser gave me the "no no no" finger signal and not wanting to offend them or reveal to them my fanboy's antics ... i started to relent .... and tried my luck for one last time by asking her (with hand signal) if it's possible to snap a picture with him ... of cos kanna a Bigger NO from her ...

a self note to my fellow autograph and celebrity photo seeker and myself ... minders and organiser are to be ignored if the celebrity look willing to obliged.

so before he left, I shook his hand and well being the nice celebrity he is ... he gave me a big smile and wished me a Happy New year ... regrets sort of flood in that I didn't ask for "more" but I guess I should not be that greedy

in the end, I decided to move on as i think must stop these fan boy mode or invitation might not come our way anymore ... and u never know ... i might just have another chance again in time to come .... : )

who am i waiting for ?

was talking to my friend about this pretty girl I met today who knew my name before I could intro myself to her ...

and this friend of mine told my other friend who buzz me and ask me to khau her ... if she is single, don't wait and regret later in life

then I told him (that the other friend) that I am waiting for the last customer who will not leave my cafe and spend time talking to me about my unsold blueberry pies.
