How to stop Andrew from Misbehaving

Was stuck with Andrew in a tin car and he was throwing a tantrum ... kicking and punching his grandpa ... normally I don't want to get involved with his education but I couldn't take it anymore ....

It was raining outside and I got no idea how long more do I have to put up the the noise pollution.

With a stroke of "genius - ism " , I took out my Hp cum camera and attempted to video his behaviour ....

and wah la !

the misbehaving stopped immediately ... this little bugger is smart enough to know that the video will be used against him and it's better not to have such incriminating evidence available in the hands of one who has no qualm in using it (even during his 21st birthday)

sometime dealing with a smart kid like him requires dirty underhanded tricks .... those who are dealing with kids like this ... u might want to use this idea : ) this post serve not much purpose except to pat my own back : )

I don't know about you but if an advert promise that sure will pass and will pass fast ... I wonder how creditable/valuable will that paper qualification be like ? It's like those test we take in army where we know sure will pass one ... no matter how screw up you are : )

After reading the review at ieatishootipost, I been wanting to try the Pasta at Bukit Timah FC ... tho I been there a few times and passed by the shop a couple of times too but I never really wanted to try it cos it just didn't feel like it was a place to makan Pasta.

And the review was right ... I was wrong ... it was damn great pasta at very very cheap price that will make one of the local fast food pasta chain paiseh

My HK DVD Bounty & Final Destination for Leaving Las Vegas

My Hong Kong Bounty Days were filled with high expectation and it came crashing down ... I felt bad because I knew I troubled Linus in getting those disc but due to my weird choice and selection process ... it will be hard for me to settle down with what I gotten .... yeah call me ungrateful ... I know I am but I just hope he will forgive me for the rantings to come below ... anyway after writing it, I felt that it was my fault and I just drag him along, wasted his time in Hong Kong to look for dvds for me ... something which I think I shouldn't do anymore ...

Slap me if you hear me asking people to get overseas dvds for me

One of the most anticipate dvd and sadly it don't play well on my dvd player !!! it works well on my cpu and the cheap dvd player outside but it just refuse to play where it matters the most ... argh!

My first reaction was that it wasn't the cover that I was anticipating for ... I was expecting the second cover to be in Golden lettering and surprising that Linus got me the one with white one ... Doing a check online and I realized that I should have printed the list for him in colour as the cover for the 1 disc version and 2 disc version are awful similar with only difference in colour scheme ... plus the price range I gave him was for the 1 disc version and on the back of the disc cover indicate a 2 ... not sure what it meant and I dare not open it ... double urgh

Surprisingly the least anticipated Dvds gave me the least problem and played well on all my players ....

The first movie was ok but the second one turn out to be a FULL SCREEN!!! arhhhhhhhhhhhh I almost cry out ... I made a stupid mistake cos I felt that it was a better looking cover compared to another version that out there for the second movie but I forgot to check what screen format was it in ... kill me pls !!!

and my Leaving Las Vegas finally can settle come at it's final destination after all the hooha ... must thank Uncle Linus next time you meet him hor

the last hurrah

Hasd another Mahjong session at Chew Cher's place but strangely, even tho I was still feeling the high from the last late night mahjong session, I got a "bad" feeling about this session.

and I was right abt my hunch as I faced a long drought of losing streaks and it was so bad that I run out of almost all my chips ...

How unlucky was I ? Whenever I just got ready and waiting for the winning tile, some other player would come n game that round ... it was really disheartening and there are also the usual "what ever i discard, the same or the companion tile will come to me" scenario but I didn't want my "bad luck" to deter me

by the last round, I felt that since there's hardly any chance of me gaming even if I get good tiles, I shall use this game to practice my "skill". Instead of rearranging the tiles when I draw them, I left them in the manner that I draw them so I can practice my mind in remembering the tiles sequences. It's not easy and in order to do that, I need to concentrate and that means shutting up.

Wahla !!! my fortune took a 180 degree change and my winning streak started right at the final round's last game ... since I was the last player and as I kept winning, there was no way to finish the game ... until finally my luck ran out and Chew Cher won it

Amazingly, I recovered all my previous loss and even won $1.20 from this session ... Phew ...

Finally Tio MDA part 5: GoodLuck & Godspeed

Leaving Las Vegas Dvd had just Left Singapore .... in the loving arms of my younger brother : )

I wonder which path will my star-crossed Dvd ends up taking .... will it be a further journey via the Hong Kong Post or will it be under the warm loving arms of my younger brother ??

I can't wait ... hope it will comes with the Hong Kong Bounty that I had made a wish list for ... fingers crossed

after 2 days ... I was still feeling the after effects of almost Overnight Mahjong ... walking around in a half daze half awake mode ... age had finally caught up with me ....

Finally Tio MDA part 4 : The Saga continues

from previous installments, my Leaving Las Vegas got Banned and not allowed entry to Singapore so gotto get it Re- Export out of Singapore since I'm not willing to let them destroy my Disc ....

and the lucky person who is doing it will be my "younger brother" who happen to go on one of his "Jurong Trip" soon.

Beside risking being detained ... he is also (might be) getting more Hong Kong Dvd (drugs) for me .... drool

Actually I had plans to fake the disc that going to export but wrong information was feed to me and instead for getting the disc back ... it was sealed with MDA envelope which made it a bit harder to take the disc out(harder but not exactly impossible) ... anyway, decided not to play punk with the law for my younger brother sake so guai guai (obediently) listen to the authority

almost overnight mahjong

Was at Chew Cher Grandfather's wake and we decided to have mahjong ...

instead of the normal game, we had the "speed" round which does not require any "fan" to be able to game but with me around ... any speed will become a slow crawl

this unexpected game lasted till 4 in the morning .... but hey ... since we are up still so early in the morning ... we Had McBreakfast before leaving each other and I won enough to get myself hot cakes hehehe

was amused to come across to see this banana hanging on the fruit basket ... My Mom told me that only my weird Dad would get such weird banana ...

but come to think of it, it's rather smart cos once the yellow ones becomes ripe, they can be consumed first while letting the green ones ripen in time to come ... otherwise if they get ripe together at the same time, we might not have enough time to consume them all

From Paprika to Solaris

Just caught Paprika last night and it was fantastic ... I could sum this movie with one line but Loki said he might used that one liner on his review so I will wait and see before posting what I thought of the film ... Part of the reason that I dig this movie was because of the soundtrack , midway thru the movie , I was already planning how to get this CD ...

It Has this Very Big Circus ambient with very maddening pulsating beats to it ... It's like a crazy dream that you want to see what will happen next and probably don't want to wake up from. It also contain very energetic tracks that either would make excellent jogging companion or would make a very good doomsday marching song.

Solaris

Next up, Solaris ... Someone asked why did I get this ultra boring dvd in the first place (he managed to guess one of the few reasons that why I gotten this rather unpopular movie) ... My Defense was that it's a movie that you have to let it washed over you and it will be easier to not look for a reason but just follow the feeling for this one ... And to aid that, it got a soothing yet mesmerising soundtrack ...

(sidetrack: the CD now cost abt US$38 dollars and that for a second hand CD! A new one would be tagged at US $40 bucks and above !! the Dvd only cost less than US$10 bucks .... yeah it's that good but it's also very hard to find nowadays (yes yes another treasure for me to hunt))

It has that awakening feel to it ... it conveys the morning after feeling when everything is over but the thoughts still linger ... like it's film, with a peaceful heart, you can find yourself floating in a spacey environment with lots of electronic pulses

Fave Track: NIL (it's how the whole album sweep you off into another panel of thoughts and weightlessness)

There was this part where a guy confess his feelings to the leaper and not knowing what to do, she leapt back in time a couple of time to avoid that moment ... not know what to do, she told her aunt about her ability and the situation that she was in ... her aunt then advise her to give it a try and if things don't work out, she could always leapt back in time to change things back to before that moment

I reflected back on myself ... if I could leapt back in time and has the ability to change the past ... specially what went wrong in my relationships ... would I do it?

I couldn't come up with an answer

Sure there are some heartaches moments that I would like to change or avoid but if I changed them ... I will never experience the lessons that I need to learn about the cause of failure. There are some paths that I could have taken differently but if I had gone by a different way, it would meant erasing some of the sweetest moments in my life that would come after the certain painful events are over...

Today: "the most insulting yet amusing thing i ever said"

Had a heated discussion about the Transformer movie and being on the side of minority that hated this movie, I was getting upset that how come people will enjoy a movie with such a crappy storyline (trashing review coming later)

the guy who is getting the bare end of my aggressiveness was my "younger brother" ... I always poke fun of the type of movies that he is and is not interested in ... (fri "For Reader Information", He loves those big bang boom action flicks while shun away those long winded drama rama films)

after a while, we shifted to another movie as it seems that we are getting no where with Transformer ... and the next movie we talked about was Die Hard, we were talking which sequel was better and which is not ... and I told him about Tears of the Sun which was supposed to be Die Hard 4

His reply was quite immediate and he stated: "I don't like it!"

I was still in the aggression mode from the Transformer debate and I reacted/shot back at him

"Why? Is it because there too much storyline for you?"

hehehe ... we had a good laugh but he point out to me that I was being extremely rude ... hahah

the most disgusting thing i ever saw a hawker did in front of me

Was a bugis, queuing for my fave wontan mee and I saw something that I swear I will never consume any food from the yong tau fu store beside the wontan mee ... (u shouldn't too!)

the aunty from the yong tau fu was shifting a bowl of sliced bittergourds onto a tray but she did it so sloppily that the sliced bittergrourd fell over the tray and one dropped onto the floor ... (mind u , it's those floor that looked more dirty than normal one ! )

She picked up all those that dropped onto the table and placed it back onto the tray ... which was still acceptable to me but the one that I was most interested was what was she going to do to that one that dropped onto the floor underneath the table ... would she leave it alone since it's only one (but hey! that one bittergrourd income short ...)

she bend down, picked it ..... and eat it !

nahhhhhh... not that disgusting (at least not for her own sake) ... but when she picked it up .... my curiosity spiked !!! what the heck will she do to that sliced bittergourd that didn't fall according to her whims ?!?!?!

initially I thought she put it on another smaller tray so that it won't get mixed up and perhaps throw it away later but it turn out that tray was filled with water and she dipped it in n wash the fallen one ... after she is satisfied with the standard of the bittergourd's cleanliness, she placed it back with the other comrades

at that point ... I thought her actions was still acceptable ... at least she washed the dirty bittergourd

she continued with her work with the bittergourd, filling them with meat paste ... and after that ... guess what her next action !

she dipped the sliced bittergourd filled with meat paste back onto the same tray of water she used to wash the fallen sliced bittergourd !!!

was going to sleep and was going to let MTV rock me to sleep when I heard this groovy song which sound like Michael Bublé's vocal except it doesn't sound Jazzy at all ....

after a while, I couldn't stand it, drag myself up to see for myself if it was who I think it was and the song was so catchy until I stayed up all the way to the end credits to check the song title ... (even delayed the off timer for it )
