But this is still not my ultimate dream combo yet! My Dream Combo meal will be something like this

Carl Jr's Double Bacon Western Burger
KFC's Cheese Fries
Burger King's Onion Rings
McDonald's Chicken Nuggets
A&W's Root Beer

Casino Raiders

Can't go up to a Casino infested area without playing a few games

the only game that got us interested was Money Wheel ... kinda like Wheel of Fortune and just when we were up to our last bet, our bet on the 10 X payout was right at the spot and we went back with 125RM worth of Chips (we started with 50RM)

and I get a 5RM chip to add into my casino chips collection

Genting : 7 years later

Our Up North Destination this time round was Genting. Was supposed to be Penang but our client went to Genting for a gambling weekend so we go where the client goes : )

Haven't been up to Genting since 1999 and It's my first time driving up the Genting highland. Back when I was just a little boy, it was always travel bus or my dad drove the car up. It was quite exciting but not as difficult as I was expecting. Given the road was winding and up slope, it wasn't as bad as people had told when I was younger.

Taking the cable car up would be fun but then the car was the preferred choice of transport for the rest so tsk tsk tsk

Upon reaching the summit, we saw at least 30 people queuing for the hotel of our choice. After going thru 2 hotels, we were told that the only hotel available was the First World Hotel (the colourful hotel you see above ^).

Yeah the First World seems to be the lowest class among the hotels up on the Genting Highlands but since we are there on school holidays week, I guess we didn't have much option, at least we got the superior room which was not too bad.

The views from my room was quite cool too : ) right in front was the Genting Hotel and the Highlands Hotel. Yup two of the fully booked hotels ! wonder how issit like to stay there ... lucky they are all linked together so getting across wasn’t difficult but I do wish to stay over at that two hotels at least once (u know, to compare which hotel better la).

and a fantastic view away from the other hotels

UP North : the A&W stopover

We left for our Up North trip very early in the morning ... so early that when we reached our usual A&W stopover, it was only 11am in the morning! Too darn early for Lunch and a bit late for Breakfast (which I didn't have any)

anyway, was about to order the usual A&W order and to my surprise, the "Corny" Dog machine spoiled (as told by the waitress that served me) so I changed to onion rings and have some sort of fish nuggets.

Well the Onion Rings was damn big, very hard to finish while the fish nuggets were quite okie, might try them again the next time.

the stranger who took onion ring from my friend

Was having dinner with Patrick at Orchard Cineplex's BK when this stranger came and asked if he could seat with us.

We were okie with it since there were a few empty seats at our table. Patrick and I continued chatting until this stranger suddenly asked if he could take one of the onion rings that we are having.

I was slightly irked by it but Patrick was still able to smile at him and told him it was ok.

But this guy didn't stop at one. He continued to read his newspaper and helped himself as if he had bought the onion rings. He didn't even bothered to ask anymore, which I will do sometimes if I am taking food from my friends and really turned me off.

So I gave him the stare and suddenly he remembered to ask again! Argh ! what the ???

After he left, I turned to Patrick and told him that guy was too much and very rude. To my surprise, Patrick revealed that he meet this type of guys everyday. At first, I thought that this type of guys must have find Patrick easy to bully and kinda felt bad for him.

It was then he revealed that it was his job scope to help jobless guys like the one who took his onion rings to find a job. He had met cases that are worse off than the one we had just met. The more he revealed about them and how he would offer biscuits to them to ease their hunger, the more I am impress with what my friend does and what a kind and giving heart he got.

I have to agree with Patrick that it’s rather difficult for them to find a job when they don’t even have enough money to feed themselves but then my stance is still the same, it’s by their own choices that they got into their situations and if they always want people to help them to fish, they will never learn how to fish for themselves.

My Third Online Dvd Purchases : Ebay + VpostUsa Saga

My Third Online Dvd Purchase and this time round, I am trying out the Ebay and Vpost combo ...

The thing was that I saw a special Limited Ed Slipcase for Usual Suspects Special Ed Dvd (limited to it's initial run) at the Imports Forum (a gathering place for folks who are crazy about Japanese/Korean and what other limited ed Dvd). The slipcase look too blood cool (see picture below) and since my dvd cover had been torn (by my own stupid actions), I been thinking of getting a replacement for quite some time. So why not get both the limited ed slipcase and a new dvd cover!

So I drop by Ebay and lucky there were a few folks there auctioning off their limited ed slipcase cover Usual Suspects Special Dvd (recently I checked there wasnt any more). So finger itchy and decided to bid for it.

The problem was that the seller only shipped to USA so I thought of trying out Vpostusa, a Singapore post officer service provider that helps folks like me to get item from USA. The problem was that it wasn't cheap. Heck it was even more expensive than the DDD online DVd retail that I bought a couple of months ago.

to maximize my losses (or minimize it, that depend on how you look at it), I got Denise's ID to start a new vpost account so that I can enjoy a new user discount (my own account was old and I didnt used it as it was way cheaper to use the retail seller's shipping) , then bided and won a few more items to spread the shipping cost of Vpost.

and Guess what ?

I had a strange feeling today before I went for my jog and went to open the letterbox. Inside the letterbox, I found a parcel for this Usual Suspects Limited Ed Dvd! After giving specific instructions and the exact shipping amount to the seller for a US shipment, he actually send it to me.

I don't think he realized it until after he send the item and I emailed him, asking why it took so long to reach the Vpost USA address. He gave me a rather unfriendly reply which I was so tempted to blast back but didn't and today I understand why.

I was tempted to pay him the extra he fork out to send the item to me but since 1. he didnt follow my instructions, 2. he wasn't that nice in his reply and 3. I actually had gotten other items to spread the Vpost shipping cost, so nah the hell with him.

Anyway I left him a good ratings but I don't expect that he will leave any for me.

My Johari & Nohari Window

The Johari Window was invented by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham in the 1950s as a model for mapping personality awareness. By describing yourself from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of overlap and difference can be built up.

take part in my Johari Window HERE

The Nohari Window is a challenging inversion of the Johari Window, using antonyms of the original words. By describing your failings from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of perceived and unrecognised weaknesses can be explored.

take part in my Nohari Window HERE

Mac Milkshake

While on my way back after meeting Stefan and Lokman at Bugis KFC, I came across a Big McDonald's Signboard that advertising Milk Shake!

yeah I know it's back for a while at Shaw Lido but I never had the chance to try it again. Until now (and even if it took my last $2.20) and it was great! Not as thick as before but just as yummy!

Given the success that McDonald having now was because of Ray Kroc, the milkshake machine sales man, they should have milk shake in every Mcdonald outlet (just in memory of the founder of the franchise)! hehehe even if it's hard to clean up at the end of the day : )

Ch5 Oscar Movie Marathon Pt5 The Review

It wasn’t as bad as I expected.

I was expecting backache and a little slugged out by watching movies that I seen before but it didn’t happened. Perhaps the Cathay seats are so ergonomically designed that I didn’t get any backache at all. At the end, I felt that the marathon could be longer, throwing a few more movies in it or I just felt that I haven’t suffered enough!

The Lowdown of the Marathon for me.

Perks:
Goodie Bag!
Watching the movies of course.
Meal vouchers & the Drinks/popcorn Vouchers
Watch the first 4 movies with Erica Lee seating behind my back (Ix Shen included)
Playing the Q&A questions with the Host Belinda

The Cons:
Not wining any Q&A game
No Luck for the lucky draw
The Lunch was definitely not enough
Second viewing of the 3 movies out of 5
Feed repeatedly the Ch5 Oscar program commercial before the event actually commence

Goodie Bag

The Highlight of the Goodie Bag would have to be DaVinci Code double-sided poster and bookmark.

The Next Coolest item would be a mini yellow CH5 CSI tape, those that are used to cordon off a crime scene. Like the Transamerica Keychain too.

and here some of the questions asked : ) see how many can you answer them !

Brokeback Mountain
1 > What the colour of Jack Twist’s hat when he first met what Ennis De Mar
2 > Who wore the blue shirt and who wore the checked shirt that was in Ennis De Mar cupboard at the end.

Capote
1> Which state did the murder occur?
2> Before in Cold Blood, what was Truman Capote’s previous Novel?

Walk the Line
1 > How many time did Johnny Cash propose to June Carter?
2>How many kids did Johnny Cash have in the end of the movie?

Munich
1> How many members form the assassination team ?
2> Which year did the Munich Olympic incident happened?

Transamerica
1> Colour of Bree’s mom’s Dog?
2> Name of Bree’s name when she was still a He?

It was an interesting experience and thanks to Ch5 for having us : )You can read more about this event from my partner Loki's account here
