Finally got down to British Council to collect my Prize !

the last day of collection, one hour before British Council closes for the day !

anyway, I was pretty happy to collect my prize, A Nice Hard Cover of Neil Gaiman's latest Anansi Boys!

But I am too used to books with picture : I got no idea how i am going to finish reading this thick one without pictures. Think it will ended up as a white elephant on my book shelve (Correction : Comic Book Shelve)




and like what daface told me on tuesday, it was "sort of" signed. Turn up that the autograph was a signed on a sticker and it was pasted on the book. er the truth (hope i dont sound too ungrateful here but) : that the worst autographed item I ever got

and on his 20th month, he fell from the playground's monkey bars and resulting in a deep cut . Guess he just reach the period when every parents fear most : the accident prone period


well at least he got a mini ice-cream cone to celebrate for his 20th month on Earth

Red Carpet

Overheard on TV: A reporter was asking the Lead Singer of The White Stripes at a Red Carpet Event whether it was his first time on the Red Carpet.

His reply ?
“Nope, I got one at home”

and everyone is Kungfu Fighting ...

While walking back home from Centrepoint Mac, I received a phone call from my gf; telling me that my Dad got (nearly-actually) into a fight.

The first thing that came into my mind > " must be at the JB causeway n the car must be kanna scratched or damaged"

After clarification, it turned out that my grandma's new neighbour nearly wack my Dad with a stick/pole (or rod as some claimed) and that "gangster" was waiting for him downstairs. So gotto call the Police to "save" my folks and gf from the lock in.

Of cos there are many sides to the story but I believed that what happened.

1) My Grandma told my Dad that her new Neighbour places a shoe rack that block her window.
2) Angry Dad approach Grandma's Neighbour with temper (pointing fingers and raised voice)
3) Angry Neighbour got pissed by my Dad's approach and took out a stick to wack my Dad.
4) Family members beat a hasty retreat to my Grandma's home
5) Neighbour swears that will wait for him at the void deck n challenge him to One-on-One, call the Police and that he been in Prison for 11 Years and wont Mind going back there again (which the Policemen n I don't believe at all)
6) Police came and "sort of" solved the matter. At least for now and took down their statement.
7) It turned out that the Neighbour's new tenant just moved in and place a new Shoe Rack, never expecting the whole issue to be blown up.

So the unhappy incident between my Grandma n her Neighbour came to a uneasy truce. I won't be surprise that there will be more of such incidents in the future and I can't say the fault lies with the Neighbour. The previous Indian Neighbour had police visiting them a couple of time due to my Grandma's complaints and opt to move out in the end.

Sigh tho she my Grandma but she reminds me of the Old Lady in "Duplex" and woes to whoever becomes her Neighbour.

Anyway Don’t think my Dad should try to solve my Grandma Neighbour Problems. Neither should my 4th Uncle.

I just won a copy of Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman !

After the recent Neil Gaiman Visit, British Council had a contest for Neil's latest Book Anansi Boys which he did a little reading during his talk at the Library!

and I just received the email from the British Council (just received becos i just check my email now) that I am one of the winners that won a copy of Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys. (HOpe got his autograph in it : ) that will be extra sweet !)

Repair Part 5

Got the New HP after 1 hour of waiting. then i realized that the Ringtones volume was pretty soft. I cant hear a thing from the HP when I was outside. Sianz , is that another fault with the new HP I got or the Razr is that soft ?

My Dvd Wishlist Update !

I found 2 DVDs today that got me drooling! That’s Japan’s Ghost in the Shell Limited Ed and Brazil’s City of God Special Ed. But they are way too expensive to buy. Each DVD cost about $100 +. Pretty cool stuff, check it out at the url below

the Plot : Dying girl don on evil wig and stop dying but become evil and wreck havoc to her sister and her sister's bf's lives

The Verdict : After Ringu (the Ring Japanese Version), we are blessed with the constant pouring of horrible horror movies which are becoming desperate and taking whatever items they can in to make a horror movie. Ref: One Missed Call - Handphone, The Wishing Stairs - Staircase and the upcoming Cello - of cos a Cello that Kills. Kinda remind me of the good old days of The Killer Tomatoes.

During the movie, a idea came to me. I thought how about doing a horror movie call “The Cinema” where people dies after watching lousy horror flicks? I posted it at MX forum and a friend who watched this movie too work on it and gave a one-paragraph setup, which I thought was quite good.

But I seriously wonder, what going thru the producers and director’s mind when this idea was pitch to them? Mind U, there a Special Collector DVD out there where the Director and other members behind this movie production that actually came together and present on their work.

Maybe they are like me, who think “The Cinema” was a cool idea, they thought that their "The Wig" was great too. ~I am not being sarcastic, I really like "The Cinema" ! ~

MotoServiceOne called up today : Phone ready for Collection but Need 1 HOUR to do all the paper works > sound like it's my fault that their phone faulty

Repair Part 3

The weekend is almost over and still NO New HP For ME!

0 calls from the good people of MotoServiceOne and tried calling them but it's always busy.

Went down to ask what going on and the guy that serve me told me that my HP was repaired and there was no indication that I was supposed to receive any one for one exchange!

Was getting upset and told him what happened on Monday & Tuesday. And guess what! He went in to the technician room and came out told me that I was on the waiting list for a New HP.

He got no idea when the new HP coming and who was the guy that was supposed to call me.

Don’t it sound strange that there a sudden change from no indication that I am getting a new hp to I am on the waiting list?

Felt like that guy was going to shake his responsibilities. And I am supposed to wait for 1 week or so for the new HP! Without any indication of when the new batch of HPs will actually arrived in store.

Tomorrow, I am going to pretend to be a Hp Buying customer and see if they carry any new Rzar phones at their shops. If they do, I am going to ask the customer service again and if they pull the same crap (ie: No New HPs), I can correct them!

Repair Part 2

Went back to MotoServiceOne to pick up my HP and the voice box still sound the same. Was worried for a moment that how the HP will sound like. But Heng ah, the guy serving me knew something was wrong too "almost immediately" and took the HP back for more checking.

At that moment, I was already late in meeting up with the rest for dinner and time is running out for the 7pm movie. Can’t believe that they took it back again! What did they do with my HP the whole time it was with them? Chuck aside until I come back to collect it? It’s already clearly stated that there something wrong with the Speaker box liao. Not impressed with their standard of service.

Anyway cranky and hungry, I went for a quick chomp chomp and rush back to see what wrong with my hp. It turned out there some permanent problem with it and they need to give me a new HP instead. Collection is this weekend.

I also noticed that there are a few of Razr HP being sent for repair while I was waiting to collect. Sigh I Wonder why this HP is rated no.1? Could the reward be "Self Served"?

Repair & Refund

Repair : there was indeed problems with Razr's Voice Box after. Right after I got the HP, I thought the Ringtones sounded weird. Sound somewhat like a monotone ... heck my old Nokia sound even better. anyway bought it down for a check up n my suspicion was confirm. Will be able to pick up tomorrow : )

at least got time for me now to transfer my contacts from my old hp


Refund : thought there were problems with the Korean Tv Serial DVD "FULL HOUSE" and bought it back to Carefour. It seems to be working fine with their dvd player and their fingers were pointed at my DVD PLAYER (HOW DARE THEY!). WHY CANT it be the LOUSY DVD quality?

Anyway they were nice enough to Offer a refund which I took, thinking it was a good deal since the DVDs were already watched but SIGH the problems that would to be occur later ...

on our way back (the petrol kiosk story and other incidents)

The loitering Kid:

Was at SPC just now at around 12.07am, while giving my Sunny it's first Drink, I saw this little kid hanging around suspiciously. Why would a kid who like look he is only primary 1 loitering around a petrol kiosk at around midnight without any adult supervision?

We went into make payment and while waiting for the petrol to be filled up, we did a little shopping and wanted to satisfy thy itchy mouth. This kid came in and went to the cashier. I thought he went to make payment for whatever stuff he wanted to purchase so I didn’t really give much notice to it.

When I was making payment for the petrol n other munchies, this kid made his way out of the shop.

Suddenly, the petrol assistant stopped him and pulls this little kid back to the cashier. We were pretty stunned by what was going on and then we realized we just witnessed for the first time that someone got caught red handed for shoplifting.

And what did he shoplift? A stick of polo.

The cashier gave him a warning and let him go. I don’t know if it's just me but i think I saw that glare in his eyes and I don't think he actually learn anything from the whole event. Instead of being sorry, I think he was angry that he was caught. I felt that the police should be notify and scared him a bit ... otherwise we can expect more from this kid, if not any time soon, it will be later and might be even more worse than shop lifting a stick of polo.


Shoes and more Shoes:

Just before leaving my place, my gf pointed out to me the number of her shoes that was lay out in front of me. And the number of shoes she has at my place was more than the number of shoes I own now. Girls and their shoes: don’t think I can ever understand why the need to get so many shoes.


i-Dragon (Energy Drink):

Saw an advertisement on the above mention drink. Not exactly a good advertisement but I thought the packaging was pretty neat. So while I was waiting for the petrol to be filled up, I saw this drink ($2) and decided to give it a try.

Verdict: I don’t think I will want to try it again.

the Virgin & the Dead Bride

2 Good Movies that I watch recently

First off: The 40-year-old Virgin that will be opening this coming week (6th Oct 2005). Just as funny as the American Pie and the Wedding Crasher, there will be plenty of moments to laugh your head off. One of the Best Comedies of 2005!

And then the Tim Burton's Corpse Bride: Some folks complained it was too short or they were expecting more. But I thought it was just nice. The Movie could have done more to build up the characters but I felt that it would just be dragging down the pace. Anyway I was blown away by the Excellent Animation and Characters designs and watch out for "the Dead Lives again" spoof. For me, it was the classic Tim Burton & Johnny Depp's magic on screen.
