Spoiler Warnings for Jodie Foster’s Flightplan
darn, was reading Some Movie News at Yahoo and came across some news on JOdie Foster's upcoming movie Flightplan.
What I didnt expect was there are spoilers right at the very first paragraph of news article "Flight attendants outraged over Jodie Foster film"
beware
for those who hate spoilers(like me), do not read the following news with the following headings too
Flight Attendants Say Boycott 'Flightplan' (this news contain even more detailed spoiler in it)
Attendants Fume over "Flightplan" (this one at least contain a spoiler warning tag in it!)

Wait till you’re older (Andy Lau’s New Movie!)
~Nutshell plot~ Boy (Kong) hate that his dad for causing mom’s death and moving him into a new home with a step-mom. Kong vowed to leave home asap and cant wait to grow up. Like movies such as "Big" and "13 going on 30", little boy gets his wish and become a grown man over night.Had very low expectation for this and during the early part of this movie, I was counting the number of films that it’s ripping off. "Matrix" and "Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate events" was 2 prominent ones that I caught.
But as the story goes on, everything seems to gel together. Especially the ending, which wasn’t the formulaic routine finale that I had predicted and it made the whole "sudden", growing up more meaningful.
Another factor that kept my interest going was why was a genuinely nice Step-Mom (Karen Mok) who had tried to put up with Kong’s constant tantrum, ended up as a home wrecker (that Kong constantly accused her of). The revelation came suddenly and rather surprising for me. The resolution of it was done well enough and emotional enough to bring tears to some (I witness it!).
The subplots such as Kong (Andy)’s crush on his teacher Miss Lee and his good friend Da Xiong’s family (who shared dinner over the internet because the mom is staying in rural area) didn’t really have a proper closure. That was scene where the older Kong asked if Da Xiong’s dad ever cheated and was given a nudge by his good friend. It seems like there was something more to it but nothing came out from it.
And Miss Lee falling for the older version of Kong was rather unbelievable. There wasn’t enough time to build any creditable romance between them and Miss Lee’s character comes across to me like a potential psychopath. This is one very weird relationship.
Anyway veterans like Karen Mok, Felix Wong and Andy Lau made it fun to watch this movie and compared to the recent HK movie, "The Myth", "Wait till you’re older" will be more worth it to catch it in Cinema.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
I just saw this 66’ western classic and it blew my socks off! Plot in a nutshell: 3 gunslingers looking for $200,000 worth of gold coins (it must worth a lot back then). And the personas of these 3 gunslingers are represented by (duh) the good, bad and ugly (who I don’t think was that ugly after all).
Anyway long story short:
The Good: Clint Eastwood ~ super duper cool, he don’t talk much and when he does, it almost classic every time he open his mouth. He defined the standard what cool should be! Got to be one of Clint’s best performance ever.
The Bad: Lee Van Cleef ~ right from the start, u know his the “evil guy who will do anything and all thing terrible one” and yet that there this charm emitting from him that it’s hard to hate his character. I think the director once said his eyes can burn a hole thru the screen and I can’t agree more with that.
The Ugly: Eli Wallach ~ the clown : ) this film would not be such a pleasure without this clumsy character. One moment you could wish that someone kill rotten bugger and another moment you could be laughing at this character’s antics that you just want to hug him.
The story slowly unfolds over 2 hours and 40 mins (160 mins) but with their intriguing characters and unexpected events thrown at them, I wish “The End” would not come so soon. Will be getting the extended version to watch the 181 mins version. This Movie is just pure cinematic gold.
Recommend for those who never watch it before or not even interested in western cowboy movies: ) try n u might fall for it like I did

Must watch TV: What Will U DO ?
ED
One of Ed's old fren pass away n they found a very old video tape from their teenage years where his fren make him promise to sing a silly rock song that they created during his friend's funeral. His gf and other friends thought it was a Bad idea but Ed going to fulfill that promise to his recent deceased fren
Would u do it ? with the recent deceased's family mourning ... breaking out in a rock song ?
~ Me : I just might do it cos it's wild and a promise is a promise : ) anyone want me to sing at his or her funeral? i can promise u now : )
*update: oh the song "She a bitch but i love her" turn out to be quite good
Tru Calling
(in case u dont know, Tru got the special ability to go back in time to save someone who died when the recent deceased ask her to "Save Me")
Today EP: Everytime Tru return to save one person, she would cause the death of another person. Her confidant point out the fact that maybe the first person she wanted to save was meant to die after all. Now should Tru stop trying to save that first person or try her best to save the first person and prevent the subsequent death of others?
what would u do ?
~ me : I rather go buy 4D

the only thing i like abt a mini cooper
the only thing I like about a mini cooper is to park beside it : )
~richardlimjr 2005~
the recent construction at my place took away quite a number of parking lots : ( therefore limited parking lots, specially the sheltered lots which could be pretty cramp and difficult to part. Tonight (Just Now), while i was looking for a parking lot, I found one which was rather tight but heng heng ah, the car beside the lot was a Mini Cooper : ) hehhe can bully that mini for extra parking Space : resulting in easy parking ...hahahaha

Hello there, wat a surprise : )
I got a New HP : ) thanks to my gf, I got a third HP, a MOtorola Razr V3. was told that it's the Best HP of 2005. think this blog is like a wishing well, once i post that i need a new hp, a new hp pop out !
wasn't expecting it at all as i didnt really ask for it ... in fact I was a bit worried when it was given to me becos i never really liked Motorola HP (the last hp brand i would be lookin at) but it looked pretty slick n lots of functions that i dream of having on my HP (plus Loki confirmed it's a good HP too)
my soon to be retired hp, a Nokia 8310 and I was made fun off by the sales ppl when they asked my gf what type of hp that i am using (to see if there was any trade in value) ... zero zip ling 0 kor song , my NOkia 8310 is already a Museum case liao : ( and to tihnk i still can remember the very first time I got it and the rather unhappy incident with Singtel before I left Singapore

Jackie Chan's The Myth
Jackie Chan plays Jack, an archeologist who having dreams of possibly his past life as a General and a relationship with a Korean Princess that was going to be the Emperor’s new concubine. As His scientist friend invited him for some investigations in India, his dreams became seemly real and of course our hero would like to get to the bottom of all this mystical possibilities.
Long Story Short:
Story: Lousy tale of mystical proportion.
Action: sequence was the normal JC stuff with some new "scenes"
Actress: Mallika Sherawat was the only good thing going for this movie but sigh, her role was short and unnecessary
Verdict: can give it a miss unless you are a true blue Jackie Chan fan
Sidenote: To Hear The Canto soundtrack in Singapore Cinema bought a smile on my face! When can we watch HK movies in their original language in Singapore?

what's good to watch this week
Gandhi (4.5 / 5)
Just Saw Gandhi on DVD ! (borrow from National Library) Although the film was from 1982 and the fight for independence of India was many years ago, the issues that were bought up in this film are still relevant in our current time.
Now if only some of our world leaders can be more like him :doubt: Solving oppression via Non-Violence! Terrorist should learn from this guy, there a way out of oppression and spilling blood of the innocence are simply not the way to go.
Go rent it !
Russia's NightWatch (4 / 5)
The age-old struggle between good and evil (Nightwatch Vs Daywatch) in our modern world setting. Made with only US 5million, this flick pack on a stylistic fantastic visual punch with some good old gothic mystical aura to it.
Singapore's Be With Me (4 /5)
Singapore Homegrown directors film about companionship and love in the 3 stages of life, youth, middle age n the elderly twilight years. The main focus lies on Theresa Chan who is both deaf and blind, which was pretty inspirational. Watching her life history and how she lives her life in darkness and silence made me realize whatever life's troubles I had encountered seems so minor compare to hers.
The Finale will most likely leave some of the audiences in tears
Korea's A Bittersweet Life (4.5 / 5)
The best Korean film I had seen so far, I can still taste the bittersweet ness of this film after leaving the cinema. A tale of a “servant” vengeance against his “master” and secretly yearning for an unattainable love in the midst of stylistic violence (quoting my friend Patrick) and brutal mayhem.
This film reminded me of classic such as A Better Tomorrow dash with some Zen like teachings and a moody soundtrack to boost, resulting in a film not to be missed.
USA's remake The Longest Yard (2.5 / 5)
Remake that seems to serve only as a Movie vehicle for Rap star and WWE stars. No Longer as fun as previous Adam Sandler's movie like Waterboy or 50 First date

I shook hands with Jackie Chan
yup ! that right ! and what a way to start my blogging life !
He was here in Singapore with Stanley Tong to promote the film, The Myth and was present for a panel discussion at the Library about Asian Films. More on the talk later !
As he was leaving the hall with his body guards, I followed closely and was in luck when he stop to chat with an old lady, giving her the flowers he received in appreciation for attending the panel discussion. I stood beside the old lady and waited for my chance
Just as he was about to leave, I called out for him and stick out my hand for that golden firm handshake ! Wanted to ask for autograph and photo but it was cleared that he gotto go.
Anyway after so many years of watching his films (classic like Police Story and A Project), I never expect to be so close to him and able to shake his hand ... some sweet to remember and maybe i wanna record this moment with some form of diary and since blog the fad now, that why I started this blog entry! Hope there will be more experience with my idols to share in time to come !
