a pleasant connecting encounter

After hearing my fellow folks from mx recounting their experience with Louis Koo, I thought my encounter with him will be like the dark & stormy encounter with Stephen Chow (too depressing to post but someday I will).

But surprise surprise ... it didn't turn out all that bad ...

He still sound / behave / look rather restless answering questions from the interviewers. Not exactly a very energentic person but there are times when he would crack some jokes to lighten up the mood ... I guess he must be tired from the series of questioning.

anyway, paired with my new "intern" (as a reporter from My Paper would called it, I prefer the term > friend), we managed to get a small group interview with him (private joke/ Thanks to Shaw n Faith, I will definitely save you first over the other lady /private joke ends).

Before they (the reporters) could even get to start asking him question, he took my friend's dvds (which was supposed to be returned back to me so I can pass it back to the webmaster) and checked every dvds out. hmmm look like a fellow movie fanatic leh? or maybe he too bored?? ... anyway my friend who is doing interview with a celebrity for the first time managed to find a common topic that interest him and that topic turned out to be his first feature "Troublesome Nights"

along the way, he constantly joked about "Troublesome Nights" and the interview session didn't turn out to be as bad as we were expecting.

Since the mood looked good and no one was there to chase us after our session ended, I took out my Election 2 Dvd for him to sign ... which he nicely obliged

Kinda look like caterpillar right?

after he signed my dvd ... and since no other reporters came in yet ... I shamelessly (a requisite as I learned from the Andy Lau encounter (too lazy to post abt it but someday I will)) asked if we could snap a picture with him ...

surprisingly, his reply was a rather chirpy "sure" and even during the time when I was teaching the photographer how to use my camera (cos my lcd screen wasn't turn on), he put his arms around my friend and made small talk about "Troublesome Nights" again!

I was thinking of doing some photo editing after seeing this picture with him ... noooo not the removing fats off my face type of photo editing (I am not that skilled yet) but maybe i could darken my face a bit ... so I won't loook like a small pale face beside him ....

haiz, he is too good looking ... i think my camera is in love with him

Updated Edit : I realized I mention "Troublesome Nights" so many times but never even mention the movie that he was here for ... anyway it's Connected and you can check out more of his photos n his co star + director at

distributing eggs

Mom suddenly got this idea of making Tea Eggs and to our horror (my Dad and I), she wanted to make 20 of them!

My Dad asked her how are we going to finish all 20 of them and her plan was to give some to our neighbours and some to our estate manager.

I was slightly amused at that and asked her

"issit becos you got no chance to give red colour eggs, so you are giving out all these black ones??"

Can U tell what's wrong with these pictures ???

Checking out MX banners, I realized that some of these pictures that I took and specially edited would eventually fade to obscurity from Mx webpages as new updates are being made .... so I shall post some here and ask my handful faithful readers ... can you spot what is wrong / special with these pictures??

Oh u can click on the pictures and it will send you to the article page at MX

Starting from the most recent one ... quite proud of it as I shown my friend and she couldn't figure it out until I told her what is so special about this picture

(Roll Over to Read)Well, I got Donnie Yen looking straight into the camera and the other two actors were looking at the right side .... then when finally QiYiWu was looking straight into the camera but the other two weren't.... Lucky I was standing at the same spot and managed to merge Donnie Yen Straight pic into QiYiwu's straight pic ... I gave up on the last guy cos he never once look at my direction ...

Well the merge isn't really spotless as if u look at the text behind Donnie Yen, You will find that there are some unmatching problem with the Chinese title ... partly I was lazy, partly I don't think the readers are so observant, partly it was a rush job and partly I think I can fool everyone .... so did I ? (Roll Over Ends)

it's pretty scary what you can do to one picture ....

(Roll Over to Read)

Well first of all ... it was a not bad shot except that guy at the right hand side was too far away for a group picture (maybe he not friends with them ah) and the guy in the middle wearing white was looking away (why can't he look at where the rest are looking) .. anyway, with some photo editing and other nicer pix of him, I was able to make him look straight and move that right side guy nearer to the group for some group warmth ... did u spot something wrong with these two ??(Roll Over Ends)

and the last one from Rule #1 ....
(Roll Over to Read )I saw a good idea in this pic but at that moment, I was only able to snap the actors n director .... cos it was kinda rush and spur of the moment thingy ... after snapping the shot, I felt that it had potential but without the corpse's head and hand, you don't get the whole effect of the shot that I was trying for ... so i went back, tired to stand at the same spot where I shot the upper half pic and took the second shop (praying that I would be able to merge both pix later on ) ... using the taper as a cut off / merging point, I managed to combine both pix into one satisfying end result .... could you tell the diff between two pix?(End of Rolling : ))

Why is it so hard to get money back?

You know ... People owe you money and yet it's so hard to ask it back from them ... why is it so ???

There this guy who owe me Money since Italy hosted the World Cup ... he lost money with soccer bets, borrowed money from me, never made it a point to return me and along the way, I sort of lost contact with him.

I met him again in Sim Lim and found out that he is working in one of the shops there and you think I would immediately ask him the money that he owe me ... but noooooooo, I talk to him, chat him up like old friend and even ask him which webcam is cheap and good ... while the outstanding 400 bucks is constantly on my mind.

Eventually, I left him after getting his contact and thought that the next time, I will ask him.

That was a few months ago ... I did went back once but couldn't locate him until today ... when I was getting my refill on inks and Dvd-R.

The most unbelievable thing was that we chit chat about the price of DVD-R and I still find it so hard to bring up the money he owe me ... He offered to help me get some staff discount on the Dvd-Rs I wanted and it made it even more difficult to ask him ...

Lucky, he couldn't locate the stuff I wanted and I just cut to the chase, told him that if it's ever possible to get my money back. I was surprise that he was very willing and even took out $100 on the spot to return me.

But what was slightly unpleasant was that he said: "How come You never ask me for it?"

Actually I did during the 90s when I was still able to contact him ... and in the first place, he borrowed money from me and I had to do the asking??

Nevertheless, I was quite happy to recover a certain portion of money that I thought would have to be written off as Bad Debts .... but that question still bugs me till no end ...

Why issit so hard to get money back ... specially from friends ??

Soloist Milk Real Time

Still on the Robert Downey Jr. high ... plus Jamie Foxx and that good old tale of becoming friends with a crazy guy .... just can't get enough of these combo that coming faster than those drum games in arcade : )

Milk trailer gave me a feeling that Sean Penn is going to get nominated for Best Actor in many many upcoming awards.

Among all the trailers I caught this morning, Real Time was the most played one and it was becos of this one line that the assassin said to Andy the compulsive gambler when he begged to God for one more chance ...

"One more chance to do what ?"

well it was built on the previous line that he said

"making stupid bets, stupid choices ... that not bad luck, that just stupid"

I'm hooked on the angel of death concept, the last hour of one person's life angle and addiction in life, you know what's wrong but it's so hard to get rid of it

old recycled plot but Ricky Gervais's performance make it compelling for me to catch Ghosttown.

touchy-ly funny

So I had Gong Gong

after helping out with my fren's presentation, we went to Changi for dinner and he intro me to Gong Gong ! It was really hard to dig the meat out and among those who were there, I was the very last one to get the meat out

But hey, it's not bad ... look like alien meat to me but taste not bad ... the first thing that came into my mind when I was chewing on the meat was that ... that taste like a piece of the seas ... : )

I am not sure what the correct term for Gong Gong but I believe it's called Common Periwinkles ... click here for the wikipedia information on that

Next stop .. LA LA hahaha

my new love ... my monkey jug

more flower photos

I think I m becoming a flower fan ... while waiting for my frens to come over to use my projector, i took out my camera and decided to shoot the plants in my house as they are blooming ... As my friend recommended me, I tried out the Marco focus and hey the pix turned out even nicer

here are some of my personal favourite

I like how the bud looked in focus while the branch in front and behind are blurred ...
as again, the flowers are in details while the surroundings are blurred .. even the branch that is supposedly in front of the flowers

ah fat flip pancake

I love pancakes (so much that I had pancake at Mac for breakfast and then realize that I am makin it for lunch again). I love Korean Pancakes and after a visit to the Korean Mini mart at Orchard Cineplex, I am all so ready to make some pancakes : )

the mix ... yup like rojak, ingredient can be anyhow added into a Korean Pancake ... for today's experiment, we used chong, crab meat and baccon (good to oil the pan)

now the moment of truth ... can i successfully flip the pancake ?

do u think the flip will be successful ?? play the video to see

there were a couple of times when the pancake didn't fall properly but I'm sure you don't want to see those mistakes ... so let jump till

the final try

the most ya ya video of this post : )

and here The End results : )

taste quite yummy even tho the flour mix was the cheapest on the rack ... taste like waffles which my Mom agrees ... overall, the most fun in making the pancakes was the flipping bits ... hehehe and the eating parts hahaa

Botanical Shoot Out

Was at Botanical Garden and had such a fun time shooting pictures of flowers that I almost didn't want to leave when the rain came along ... here are the slides ...

Quite proud of the pix I took ... what say you?
