"Richard Lim Jr is wondering about the Birth & Death of Attraction. How did the sparks ignite & when did it die so suddenly and yet so unnoticeable ..."
Guess I was being melodramatic again
Today, when I was in the midst of packing stocks and rushing delivery ... this thought came into my mind... the same one that you read above ^ ... the Birth and Death of Attraction.
I had my fair share of Attraction and it usually comes hard and fast. Strike you with overwhelming bliss and untapped energy. Life will be like Sunshine even during the dark nights.
But I often wonder ... what created that sparks in between two person? How did it happened? Was it the image or attitude portrayed? or the ability to articulate in sms / msn format? Or was it that split second moment when one did something that he or she usually don't?
It could be one or numerous things and the funny thing is that, some might be aware of the what, when, why , which and how did the sparks happened ... many others won't have a clue ... like many others, I often scratch my head and wonder about's cupid shooting style and method.
Just like I don't know that exact moment when attraction was formed ... I am equally clueless when did attraction dies of a quiet and unnoticeable death. It's often not going to be a major accident that happens in front of you (tho I been thru some big drama rama hurtful fights that killed all my attraction for that person).
It's often likely to be small little things or incidents that caused one to lose all attraction for another. It could be how that person scratch his head when he is thinking or the sight of that person is wearing out on the beholder. Or it could be a new attraction had come along and old toy is well ... old. It could be 101 things and sadly I wonder, will the either party be aware of that it happened.
So while packing ... I wonder ... if we could ever pin point the date, time, location and the "what did I do" moment that caused the sparks or the smothering. It will be great to freeze frame those moments... take a snap shot and keep those photos in a bag filled with memories.

who the prey? who the predator?
I thought I was going to be the predator giving the chase for my frail prey ... I thought the only loss would be the inability to capture the prey and nothing more, nothing to lose ...
but at the end of the day, not only I end up empty handed ... I realized I'm have been so wounded in that chase ... it's starting to feel like the o'so familiar slow acting poison
in a strange way ... I've became the prey and just waiting for my prey to devour me or be left to my own devices ... I feel so utterly hopelessly trapped with no way out ... waiting for the night to come

It's so hard to shop in DVD/ CD Retail shop
Disclaimer: I might sound a bit ungrateful here but that's not my intention ...
One of my Birthday Gifts was this voucher for a local Dvd/Cd retail store and I haven't had the time or chance to visit the store to check out what I could redeem for myself.
Finally, today I went down to one of the stores along the Orchard Rd stretch and I realized how difficult it was to get something from a Dvd/Cd retail store. These are the few things that went into my mind when I was shopping "frantically" and "desperately" (tho the voucher expire mid to late this year).
1) I don't buy Code 3 dvds made in SG (Unless it's a local movie).
2) I find it hard to buy Code 1 Dvds from there cos 1) I know how much cheaper I could get from the online seller, 2) this shop tends to "fake" Code 1 Dvds with Canadian Dvds instead of US Dvds (Nothing wrong except there are French wordings on the cover)
3) I haven't buy a Cd for a long time (I blame Mp3)
4) Most of the Cds that I am even remotely interested are actually printed in SG or Malaysia! (ya the country which censored James Album Cover becos it featured a Pig on the cover) More reason for point number 3
5) Was tempted to get a headphone for jogging but then again, I am sure I can get it cheaper online.
6) The Sale items are in a mess ... not sort according to genre, singer or what so ever .... so unless you got the time to go thru the CDS
7) I can't help but feel that this shop which offers second hands Cds/Dvds (aka buying from customers in rock bottom price) might be reselling second hands stuff as first hand stuff.
8) Even after discounting from a Member card, it's still more expensive than Online sellers!!!
Yeah ... just didn't realize it was that hard to shop ... but thankfully, I managed to get one item using those vouchers (thanks to those who share the vouchers) and I really like the item (which is still more ex than online sellers).

that misconception about me
Was chatting with various different frens from school days recently and one disturbing trend keep emerging. A misconception about me that I wish to clarify with them but it seems that its the same as washing myself in the yellow river.
A couple of them had this notion that I am a flirt / playboy and mention that it would feel very insecure as my girlfriend.
Sidestory: Recently one of my friend asked why am I single for 2 years, (I didn't pick up the suaning but) my Ex actually exclaimed to our mutual friends that I kept changing girlfriends in this past 10 years so need to take a break from relationship. I felt very touched that she would speak out for me (although partly she couldn't stand the guy who "questioned" me) but still ... I feel that my image had been badly tarnished.
I told one of them this story (which is the main story I would like to blog about) to demonstrate that although I might be overly friendly to other females, my heart would remain true to my partner. The outcome of the story didn't turn out the way I planned but at the end of it, that story revealed an unexpected result and that inspired me to write about it. It's funny how you look back at life and those little overlooked moments could give you a different viewpoint of what had transpired.
A few years ago, I was selling some stuff with my ex at her school fair. Beside our stall, there was this ice cream stall and we got friendly with them as both parties tried to sell stuff to each other. In that Ice-cream stall, there was this Ice Cream seller who was very easy to chat with and to have someone that click with in such an foreign environment was quite comforting (I couldn't really click that well with my ex frens... some of them not very nice, one even bet that we won't last 1 year together but I shall not digress anymore about that).
It might seem a bit too much that I was actually at the Ice Cream stall disturbing that Ice Cream seller and not helping out at my own stall. My excuse was that there weren't really anyone around then and my ex was chatting with her friend. After a while, I decided to return to pack up our stall and my Ex calmly came up to me and told me this
"My friend ask me why my bf is flirting with another girl in front of me?" and turn around to pack up the stall ...
Thinking about it (and my friend echo the same viewpoint too) ... she was pretty cool the way she handled the situation. My ex just walk away, not sulking or throwing a fit with me. Of course, I didn't realize I was flirting (in my books, I was just being friendly with a friendly girl) but thinking back now ... not many girls would have react the same way. Thinking back and visualizing that moment, I felt like giving her a nice warm hug (or should have done that in the past).
Anyway, I hope friends who read this post and had any misconception about me would understand by now that I am just being friendly. Not a playboy that you think I am ... actually I am more fragile than I look / you think : )
